FASHION: FTL MODA + ART HEARTS FASHION Presented Closing Show At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week

On Thursday, February 13th 2014FTL MODA + ART HEARTS FASHION closed Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at the Lincoln Center Theatre Venue with a showcase in benefit of AIDS Healthcare Foundation.

Feb. 17, 2014 - NEW YORK -- Over 1500 Fashionistas Trek through a Blizzard to attend the FTL MODA + ART HEARTS FASHION closing show of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week at Lincoln Center.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day AIDS Healthcare foundation presented the FTL MODA + ART HEARTS FASHION event to promote the connection between fashion and philanthropy and to support the next generation of young designers while promoting AIDS awareness.
Launched in 2007 by Ilaria Niccolini Productions, FTL MODA proudly showcases Italian brands exhibiting the county's fine legacy of craftsmanship and signature style. In 2012 FTL MODA partnered with producer/designer Erik Rosete to bring the platform to New York Fashion Week. This season Erik invited the FTL MODA platform to open for his event ART HEARTS FASHION, a leading art fashion platform to create meaningful and artistic fashion shows.

Since 2011, Erik Rosete's event ART HEARTS FASHION has been held across the U.S. and benefitted charities including AIDS Project Los Angeles, Women's Cancer Research and Hurricane Sandy Relief Kitchen.

Fall 2014 was the premiere entry for FTL MODA into the official Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week calendar and the evening capped off the week with a taste of the European shows ahead. Inglot cosmetics and Prive hair provided hair and makeup lead by beauty director Erik Torppe and a special hair collaboration with Rockstar Wigs. Guests enjoyed complimentary specialty cocktails by Mizo Shochu and fully loaded gift bags by FHI Heat.
Celebrating trends in Italian style, FTL MODA designers opened the show with an array of styles directly from the catwalks of Italy. Italy's rising stars Kokler and Silkskin opened with contemporary and ready-to-wear collections followed by Giada Curti, Jamal Taslaq, and Gianni Tolentino. Accessories on the runway included Mosaique Shoes, Erika Regondi, Silvia Massacesi, and Maria Greca. The Italian showcase culminated with a grand finale by Haute Couture Designer Nino Lettieri.
The ART HEARTS FASHION finale presentation featured inspired collections from the nation's freshest trend setting designers. Opening the show was M the Movement, the urban eco-friendly line by Simplicio Michael Louis Herrera whose fashion inspired 90210 star Ian Ziering to walk in support of the cause. The show was followed by Control Sector's asymmetrical hoodies and fashion forward menswear. The crowd cheered and the evening got sexy and dark when designer Erik Rosete took the stage with his street wear line up MISTER TRIPLE X. The Mister Triple X Collection featured leather and chains with lots of skin and upbeat music to keep the crowd excited and on their feet. Next, Altaf Maaneshhis showed a captivating and charismatic collection. Devyn Abdullah winner of "The Face" strutted the catwalk in support and closed the night in the grand finale by designer Furne Amato whose Grey Skies collection stunned the audience with drama and passion. The next ART HEARTS FASHION event will take place on March 11th 2014 in Los Angeles at the L.A. Live Event Deck at the Staples Center.

FASHION: Tragedy in the Community

Police have found the body of the missing fashion designer Michele Savoia. Savoia was last seen leaving Marquee New York nightclub wrapping up New York Fashion Week on Thursday. The New York Post reported that The House of Savoia creator raised suspicion when he missed Valentine's day dinner with his girlfriend.

Friend Felix Rodriquez went to look for the 55-year-old at his live-in yacht near 12th Ave. on Saturday. “Cops this morning, they searched the Hudson River and the port, and they found nothing — thank God — but that doesn’t mean undercurrents didn’t play a part,” Rodriquez said. He added, “I fear the worst, I fear the worst.”

Update: Savoia's friends tell CBS that his body was found in the Hudson River on Sunday, not far from his yacht. Police confirmed that a body was found near Pier 57 in Chelsea, but said the person has not been identified.

FASHION: Blinged Out By India & Lactrodectus NY Fashion Week Show

Yesterday evening I attended the Blinged Out By India & Lactroductus show.

The show was at Stitch Bar in Manhattan, NY.
Red carpet was set to begin at 8PM but I did have another event to attend
that evening so I showed up right on time for the show to begin at 9PM.

Walking into the show it was a great environment, felt very cheery and
happy unlike most fashion events which are a little stuffy to say the least.

As the models started to pour down the staircase and the "T-Shaped"
runway I was amazed at some of the detailing that I saw before my eyes.

There was a huge array of looks from, kids, urban, formal to athletic.
The seamstry was done well, but what I was really impressed with was
the crystal embellishing on a lot of the pieces, and the imprinting
on the leggings and T-shirts was gorgeous.

There were lots of press flashing lights throughout the event.
A very mixed group which was great to see.

Overall, I enjoyed the show and I would say that India will
do very well with her talent and skills.

Photos below from the show
