LIFE LESSON: Who Are You Living For?

Throughout the years we are always taught to follow our dreams and goals. We live in a world of give and take so most think that is not always possible.

Family&Friends: Sometimes your family can either be your biggest supporter or your biggest obstacle. I've always tried my best to please the people I have in my life. Setting my aspirations around others lives. It is not something that can happen overnight but you have to realize that you have to live for yourself.

It may sound selfish but at the end of the day your all you have. No one can make your dreams come true except you! A lot of people won't understand this until it happens to them... because I was once one of those people.

I have a small group of friends that I can give me solid advice when I need it... Not many people are able to be complete objective and give advice without inputting their personal feelings or opinions. I have a very good understanding of reading people, which is why I normally do my own thing.

Your husband, wife, fiance, mother, father, sister or bother, are not YOU.

I am one of those people who hardly ever forgets ANYTHING.
There could be a pair of shoes in a store and I reluctantly decide not to buy them. A year later I will still picture those shoes when I find something that goes with them, regretting not buying them.

Now turn that perspective into something life changing... You are given a job opportunity that could be the beginning of a career you have always wanted. The only drawback is that you are taking a pay cut until you get promoted and it means you will have to relocate.

Everyone tells you that  its not a good choice think of what you will be losing. No one focuses on what you have the potential to gain. Your friends and family will not understand the steps that you want to take to build YOUR future.

I worked a day job and a night job for MONTHS to save up my money to move from NY to FL a few years ago. It was right after I left college. Moving into my very first apartment, 1500 miles away from my immediate family. It hurt! But I know I needed to do it for ME! I know if I stayed in NY I would have been to complacent not pushing myself. Moving to FL alone with financial help from NO ONE, I was fine in the beginning. After the first year I was on a sinking ship. I was spending money faster than I was making and and going down hill very quickly! Some of my extended family lives in Florida and was able to step in and save me from downing completely but needless to say I moved back to NY with my tail between my legs disappointed in myself. So I slept all day and partied all night for months..

Looking back on it I do not regret one second or decision I made! It helped me mature and grow beyond my age. It got me out of my wild 20's faze. Now being able to focus on my long term future.

Growth...

I have not posted anything on my blog in OVER a year!

Starting a new chapter in my life, to project my challenges and growth.

I will forever be fashion, music, makeup and all around lifestyle brand obsessed; but I am going to show my life, the good the bad and UGLY!

My ups, down, successes and failures, will hopefully be able to relate to someone, ANYONE.

I just want people going through something to know that they are not the only one going through it!

FASHION: H&M X BALMAIN

INSIDE H&M

BALMAIN X H&M

Get ready for #HMBalmaination
H&M’s next designer collaboration will be with the Parisian house of Balmain.

Jourdan Dunn, Olivier Rousteing and Kendall Jenner

It all started with a bang. Yesterday night, the creative director of Balmain, Olivier Rousteing, took the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards together with his friends Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn. They were all dressed in Balmain x H&M – revealing the first pieces of the collection. Through social media, H&M and Balmain invited their fans to join a movement of togetherness with: #HMBalmaination.

"I want to talk to my generation: this is my main aim as a designer. H&M allows me the unique possibility of bringing everyone into the world of Balmain get a piece of the dream and create a global #HMBalmaination: a movement of togetherness, fueled on a hashtag. The collaboration felt extremely natural to me: H&M is a brand that everybody connects to. It calls for unity, and I am all for it," says Olivier Rousteing.

Under the creative directorship of young Olivier Rousteing, Balmain – the epitome of French luxury – has grown into a global pop culture phenomenon, with modern day icons like Kim Kardashian and Kanye West marching in the forefront.

Still, Olivier Rousteing has always remained true to the brand’s DNA and its couture legacy. Balmain is all about energy, fun, amusement and freedom, as well as unique craftsmanship. All powered by a showbiz flair – highlighting the brand’s pop charm through the H&M collaboration came as a natural decision.

“We are excited to have Balmain as our guest designer at H&M and create a truly involving experience for everybody. With its mix of couture spirit and streetwear attitude, Balmain owns a unique style, at once opulent and direct, sensual and energetic. It is also closely linked to the show business and music worlds, which adds another element of surprise,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M.

The collection will be available starting November 5, in around 250 stores worldwide and online, and will feature clothing and accessories for both women and men.

FASHION: The NEW Birkin

Hermès Debuts Minimalist Birkin
There are few sacred things in handbag design, but among them is the Hermès Birkin. When Hermès is feeling creative, the brand generally looks to the Kelly to make tweaks and create new versions–we documented nearly a dozen in our guide to Hermès bag styles, and that doesn’t include limited editions. There are far fewer Birkin styles, but now, there’s another to add to the list: the pared-down Hermès Sellier Birkin 40.
According to T Magazine, Hermès leather design director Couli Jobert set out to de-clutter the Birkin down to its essential look, which involved losing the lock and key, hiding the stitching, smoothing the edges and removing the interior lining. The resulting 40cm bag comes only in black cowhide (T didn’t specify the Hermès leather name) with Palladium hardware, and it’ll set you back $14,900.
The timing of this Birkin is perfect; although interest in Hermès bags is seemingly unending, minimalism is very much en vogue for day bags, and any design, even a Birkin, runs the risk of feeling stale as trends ebb and flow. Breaking the Birkin down to its simplest state not only gives aficionados something to chatter about and clamor for, but it reminds all of us that Hermès is successful because the brand is built on a foundation of exceptional design and materials. Most brands’ bags would not fare as well when stripped down to their bones, but the Birkin’s magic endures.
